December 26th

A great night was had by all at our last gig on 26th December at The Railway Hotel, Evesham.

Playing some of our favourites and throwing in some new tunes and tracks for good measure, the night went down neatly with all concerned, and we had a great time too!

What a night it was for all of you with even the slightest thought of getting onto that dance floor - and we love it when you do!

Tony, our drummer, helped us get right to the centre of your christmas spirits and soon the floor was packed out with, lets face it, quite "lively" boogying!

Now we know what it takes to get you ALL up there - we're going to do it again!

Check out our up and coming gig dates for another boogying session with some true rock'n'roll classics to get those feet onto the dance floor!

The story so far...

January 31st Torque play thei debut gig. Billed locally as one of the most anticipated gigs in years, the band plays to a sell out crowd in the Railway Hotel, Evesham, and breaks various unofficial records! Bussiest, loudest, most professional, fun, enigmatic show they've seen in a long time.

Spotted by the owner of a new recording studio and asked after the show to come in and be ginea pigs for recordinng. The result - a quality demo CD for very little cash!

A 2 month break follows due to holidays, illnesses and the like giving the lads valuable time to polish the show anb go out and about finding venues and falling upon some very useful contacts in unusual places! Least of all a Mr Gary Charman.

Gary's car was in for repairs at the garage (where Torque was born)! and the conversation turned to music.... This was unheard of! Gary is the frontman for Classic Rock UK, and extremely talented tribute band, and as luck would have it needed a band to play an opening slot for them at Marr's Bar, Worcester. Torque win over the engineer at sound check and a storming one hour set ensues leaving the crowd baying for more! - They will be back!

Various gigs come and go with ever growing confidence, the boys were enjoying this - then May 29th arrives.

The show was going to be the biggest yet, plugged the previous month by AC/DC tribute Hells Bells, Torque arrive at Stanton Village Club with big plans - a live recording! A big sound set up was brought in by Gary Charman who had also volunteered to do the sound as he was "very impressed with what you guys have done in such a short space of time" - a great bloke and true friend of the band by now.

The show blisters at full pace from start to finish leaving the sell out crowd ellated. Comments from people afterwards...

"Why haven't you played here before?"

"You lot know what you're up, to don't you "

"Not many bands can pull off songs like those and do them so well!"

The recording turned out okay too!

Months pass and the gigs roll in thick and fast, including a trip to Newcastle Under Lyme! This was another big show, the TA base.
One of their senior staff was retiring and the band was booked by a friend of Toby's who happened to be based there "yes they want a rock band" were the words.

As the band arrive they are treated as VIPs. Nothing they ask for is too much trouble - although when asked what the large sheet of MDF was centre stage for, the response was "if you jump around too much you'll find out!" - Still, it was a great show.

That's pretty much it. There's been loads of gigs all over the place since and a new update of the highs (and lows) will be added soon along with plans for the future and anything else we can think of.

See you soon, keep an eye out for pictures that are on the way, they'll show Torque in a true light!
